TSK Architects and Navy Veteran Joins Board of Directors for McCaw School of Mines

TSK Architects announced that Jeffrey Sarmiento has been appointed to the board of directors for the McCaw School of Mines Foundation. Sarmiento joined TSK in 2015 and has been major contributor to many of TSK’s notable projects.

TSK Architects announced that Jeffrey Sarmiento has been appointed to the board of directors for the McCaw School of Mines Foundation. Sarmiento joined TSK in 2015 and has been major contributor to many of TSK’s notable projects.

“We are thrilled to share the news of Jeffrey’s appointment to the McCaw School of Mines board of directors,” said Windom Kimsey, president and CEO of TSK Architects. “Jeffrey is an invaluable member of our firm and we celebrate with him as he joins in the mission of the McCaw School of Mines which has been serving our community for the past 25 years.”

Sarmiento served as an engineering aide in the Navy from 2006 to 2010. He attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he earned a bachelor and master’s degree in architecture. As an integral member of TSK’s federal market, Sarmiento has been a contributor to several general services administration projects including Kalaeloa Hangar in Kapolei, HI; Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole Federal Building ICE Office of the Principal Legal Advisor and Enforcement and Removal Operations Tenant Improvements in Honolulu, HI; and the Sandra Day O’Connor Court House in Phoenix, AZ.

“TSK Architects has been an important long-standing partner with McCaw School of Mines Foundation,” said Philip Luna, executive director of McCaw School of Mines Foundation. “We have always had TSK Architects representatives as a part of our organization and couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Jeffrey Sarmiento from TSK to our board of directors.”

The McCaw School of Mines has been part of the Las Vegas and Henderson community since it was built in 1996 from donations and the support of the McCaw School of Mines Foundation. The non-profit offers free transportation to and from the exhibit to thousands of Clark County School District students annually. The volunteer and student-led interactive exhibits contain mining equipment, vehicles, and scale model replicas and has been enjoyed by over 100,000 students and families from Nevada, Utah and California since 1996.
