Grand Opening of the Kirk Kerkorian Medical Education Building at UNLV

Last Thursday, the Kirk Kerkorian Medical Education Building at UNLV held its grand opening ceremony in the Las Vegas Medical District. Total project cost is $125 million. The building broke ground in Fall 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the development team, Nevada Health & Bioscience Corp., was able to complete the project under budget and ahead of schedule.

In August, the State Interim Finance Committee awarded the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV $70 million to fund an ambulatory care clinic and a pathology lab.

135-Acre Medical Campus Breaks Ground in North Las Vegas

Last Tuesday, Pacific Group broke ground on Helios, a 135-acre mixed-use medical campus in North Las Vegas. The project, designated as a Job Creation Zone, has now been named Helios.

This project is estimated to be completed in 7 to 10 years. The entire campus is estimated to have 1.3 million square-foot of office space, 290 hotel rooms in two buildings, 7 restaurants, 900,000 square-foot of research and development space, 250,000 square-foot of retail space, and create 12,000 jobs.

M Resort Plans $206 Million Expansion

Yesterday, PENN Entertainment, owner of M Resort in Henderson, announced a $206 million expansion to add approximately 384 rooms to M Resort, brining its total to 774 rooms and suites. Along with the rooms, there will be expanded meeting space, updated amenities and additional local partnerships that will be announced at a later date.

LVGEA Awards Dinner Celebrates Economic Development Advancement in Southern Nevada

Last Friday, the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance hosted its Annual Awards Dinner, recognizing those who are promoting economic and community development in Southern Nevada.

Since the rebranding in 2012, LVGEA has assisted in bringing over 33,000 new jobs to Southern Nevada, with a projected $38.1 billion in economic impact and $1.1 billion in new tax revenue.
