Vū, a technology company specializing in virtual production studios for advertising and commercial videos, hosed its grand opening celebration last week in Las Vegas. The new 40,000 square foot Las Vegas studio is the latest addition to the company’s growing portfolio.

Unlike conventional filmmaking, virtual production allows filmmakers to shoot photo realistic virtual environments in the studio instead of having to travel on location, saving both cost and time. It blends both extended reality and mixed reality technologies in advanced studio facilities. Vū Studios are typically rented by film, TV, advertising, and corporate video producers based on project timeline.

“As one of the world's premier entertainment destinations, Las Vegas provides ample opportunity for Vū studios to showcase and highlight the stories and experiences of the west coast,” said Jason Soto, Vū’s Vice President and General Manager for Las Vegas. “In turn, with Vū’s unmatched technology and ultra-efficient work-flow, we’re looking forward to elevating Las Vegas to a next-level film and production hub.”

This week, Vū is bringing a 100ft LED volume soundstage to National Association of Broadcasters Annual Show in Las Vegas - the largest LED volume soundstage at NAB’s Annual Show.

Vū’s three primary activations at NAB Show will include:

Vū Theater

The primary speaker stage in Central Hall will be on a giant, 100 foot wide x 20 feet tall Vū Theater, the largest of its kind at NAB, where keynote presentations will be delivered throughout NAB Show.

Vū Exhibit Booth

Located adjacent to the Create Inspiration Zone stage, Vū’s dedicated exhibit booth will provide a forum for conversation with Vū’s subject matter experts, positioned to take attendees deep into the company’s virtual production solutions.

Unreal Ride, powered by Mark Roberts Motion Control & Vū

Attendees will be able to take a ride in this hyper-realistic simulation where they will be able to virtually ride on a motorcycle through a futuristic metropolis. Created in Unreal Engine, this experience utilizes a Vū LED wall for visual display and a Bolt X Robot from Mark Roberts Motion Control for precise motion control. This booth is located in the Central Hall Lobby.

Time: Expo Floor opens at 10 a.m. on Sun 4/24 — Expo Floor opens at 9 a.m. Mon-Wed 4/25-4/27

“The partnership with Vū this year is unlike anything we’ve ever done at NAB Show before. The opportunity to create an immersive Volume to showcase our speakers is an exciting innovation we’re very proud to bring to this year’s NAB Show attendees,” said Melissa Kittson, Manager, Digital Media, Sponsorship & Strategic Accounts for NAB.
