Three Square Food Bank has announced the following events with local businesses to continue its fight against food insecurity this September, which has been proclaimed Hunger Action Month by Governor Steve Sisolak.
Community-wide Virtual Food Drive Presented by Boyd Gaming
Throughout the month of September, individuals who would like to make a donation to Three Square can visit www.threesquare.org/ham. For every dollar donated, Three Square can provide up to three meals for an individual in need. In 2021, the Community-wide Virtual Food Drive, presented by Boyd Gaming, contributed more than 304,000 meals to Southern Nevadans battling hunger.
Strike Out Hunger, Sept. 1 - 30
This September, Las Vegas Aviators and Reno Aces will meet for series in both Reno and Las Vegas. During each series and throughout the month of September, the teams will be rallying with their local food bank to claim the “W” in the Strike Out Hunger challenge.
Every dollar donated through the Strike Out Hunger challenge will provide 3 meals for communities served by donor’s food bank of choice. To support Las Vegas Aviators and Three Square Food Bank, please visit https://strikeouthungernv.org/
The Forum Shops Dine with a Purpose, Sept. 1-30
Dine with a Purpose returns to The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace for its second year. The event offers special dishes from eight restaurants at The Forum Shops throughout the month, with a portion of proceeds from each restaurant’s featured dish donated to Three Square Food Bank.
This year’s participating restaurants include: RPM Italian, Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab, Sushi Roku, Carmine’s Italian Restaurant Las Vegas, TREVI, The Palm Las Vegas, Water Grill and True Food Kitchen. To learn more, visit www.threesquare.org/events and click on Dine with a Purpose.
Audacy Las Vegas’ 4 Corners Food Drive, Sept. 22-23
From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22 and Friday, Sept. 23, radio stations KXTE -107.5 FM, KMXB-94.1 FM, KXQQ-100.5 FM, KXNT-840 AM and KXST-1140 AM will participate in the two-day, live, on-air effort – complete with prizes, storytelling and special guest interviews – to raise funds for Three Square and the fight against hunger.
The 4 Corners Food Drive contributed an additional 210,000 meals in 2021, with a goal of providing 270,000 meals (or $90,000) this year. Community members can take part by tuning in to participating Audacy radio stations on Sept. 22-23 and by calling 702-889-SHOW or donating to 4 Corners Food Drive online at www.threesquare.org/4corners.
KOMP Radiothon, Sept. 30
On Friday, Sept. 30, KOMP 92.3 The Rock Station will host its annual Hunger Action Month Radiothon benefiting Three Square. Listeners can donate to Three Square at KOMP’s virtual food drive page: www.threesquare.org/komp.
The Giving Pump, through Oct. 31
Now through Monday, Oct. 31, fill up at the Giving Pump – which are specially marked colorful purple pumps at participating Shell stations across Las Vegas – and a portion of the fill-up will be donated to Three Square.
