Special Olympics Nevada is hosting its annual “Bowl for the Gold” fundraising bowling tournament on August 20th from 11am to 2pm at Sunset Station.

This 501(c)3 nonprofit organization’s mission is to enrich the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities through sports, education, leadership, and athlete health. It offers free year-around training and competition programs for over 2,600 athletes who compete in more than 14 competitions in 7 sports annually.

In addition to supporting the organization’s programs for athletes with intellectual disabilities, donations raised during the bowling event will assist Special Olympics Nevada in its efforts to establish an independently run chapter in Nevada. While all fundraising dollars support athletes in Nevada, Special Olympics Nevada is currently under the umbrella of Special Olympics Northern California.
