LAS VEGAS (September 7, 2022) – The Nevada Affordable Housing Assistance Corporation (NAHAC), who offers free services for homeowners battling financial hardship, has partnered with four local Housing Counseling Associations (HCA) – Chicanos Por La Causa Nevada (CPLC), Community Services of Nevada (CSNV), Neighborhood Housing Services of Southern Nevada (NHSSN), and Nevada Partners, and has allocated $400K annually in funding to assist homeowners in need of supportive housing services.

“We are grateful to join our efforts once again with community partners who are committed to helping Nevada homeowners thrive,” said Verise Campbell, CEO/COO of NAHAC. “These partnerships will help to provide supportive assistance for homeowners looking to apply for HAF funding and level-set their finances. The help they will provide is a great step forward in revitalizing our community.”

HCAs that are part of the partnership are required to conduct regular community outreach and engagement through various events, training, and campaigns to promote Nevada’s Homeowners Assistance Fund (HAF) and service homeowners facing instability.

“Affordable and sustainable housing has always been at the forefront of CPLC’s comprehensive service system,” said Rumaldo Chaidez, operations director of Chicanos Por La Causa in Nevada. “This partnership is pertinent to helping Nevada homeowners dealing with financial difficulties and we look forward to continuing to provide mortgage assistance to community members who need it most.”

In addition, the HCAs are required to utilize NAHAC’s secure portal to go through the HAF pre-eligibility process with homeowners, assist with applications, provide homeowners with counseling with a HUD-certified housing counselor, and offer education services on resolving or preventing mortgage delinquency and foreclosure.
