MDX Labs, an independent laboratory in Southern Nevada, presented a check for $2,490 from a fundraiser held during the laboratory's recent ribbon cutting event to Caridad Las Vegas, a local nonprofit that provides jobs reintegration through gardening for formerly homeless Veterans.

MDX Labs matched all donations collected from individuals in support of Caridad’s jobs program reintegrating formerly homeless veterans back into the workforce, as well Caridad’s on-going efforts to humanize the homeless population in Las Vegas.

MDX Labs, a CLIA certified, high complexity molecular diagnostics laboratory,  was founded in March of 2020 and immediately began assisting local companies and individuals with the on-site COVID-19 testing services.

Since founded in 2010, Caridad's jobs program has been using gardening to reintegrate formerly homeless Veterans back into the workforce. Its Hebron property in downtown Las Vegas provides low-income housing and programming for homeless as well as seniors on fixed incomes. Since taking over and partnering with MDX Labs, Caridad has assisted 33 homeless individuals and provided housing for 25 of them.

“The Caridad Charity is an organization whose mission we are we are happy to support in a number of different ways,” said Dan Briggs, president & CEO of MDX Labs. “We are continuing to partner with Caridad and plan to expand laboratory testing services available through Caridad and throughout the downtown Las Vegas area where testing options are extremely limited.”
