Today, Mark Davis was honored by the Boy Scouts of America Las Vegas Area Council with the Good Scout Award. The annual Good Scout Award luncheon was held at the Orleans Hotel & Casino.

When the Raiders were approved to move their franchise to Las Vegas in 2017, Mark released a statement saying, “My father always said: ‘The greatness of the Raiders is in its future,’ and the opportunity to build a world-class stadium in the entertainment capital of the world is a significant step toward achieving that greatness.”

In January 2021, Davis agreed to purchase the Las Vegas Aces of the Women’s National Basketball Association from MGM Resorts International. Shortly after, Davis hired former LSU Lady Tigers basketball head coach Nikki Fargas as team president. Becky Hammon, a six-time All-Star during her playing career in the WNBA, was hired as head coach. This month, the Aces won the 2022 WNBA Finals in four games bringing the franchise its first championship, Las Vegas its first professional sports championship and Davis his first championship as a professional sports owner.

Davis and the Raiders have been longtime supporters of Scouting in Oakland, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. They are involved in the community, supporting nonprofits, youth, veterans and more. Each year, the Good Scout Award is presented at this luncheon to an individual who has made a lasting impact in our community over the years. Last year, the honoree was Jan Jones Blackhurst. All donation of this luncheon goes to support the local scouting programs.
