The largest job fair, JobFest, is coming up on Tuesday, December 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Las Vegas Convention Center North Hall, 3150 Paradise Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89109.

This job fair is hosted by Governor Sisolak joining with the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED). The event offers free parking and admission.

More than 110 employers are expected to hire for more than 10,000 job openings. Job seekers can access EmployNV.gov anytime to build a resume, search open jobs, and find training and skill opportunities. Preregistration is encouraged at https://www.nvcareercenter.org/jobfest-2021/

Employers and businesses who would like to participate can email Nevada JobConnect Business Services Office at BusinessServices2@detr.nv.gov or call (702) 486-0129.

“There is no priority more important for me than Nevada’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Governor Steve Sisolak. “Our State agencies are focused on creating high-paying job opportunities and connecting Nevadans to the skills and resources they need for these jobs.”

Nevada leads the nation in hiring and there are thousands of open jobs in Southern Nevada, according to federal statistics analyzed by DETR. Some job sectors are slower to return to full staff than others.

“We’re ensuring that job seekers can find employment that works for their family and lifestyle. Right now there are many opportunities for workers to re-tool for life-long meaningful work,” said DETR Director Elisa Cafferata.

“An excellent resource for those looking for jobs is nv.emsiskills.com. This online tool not only lists job openings, but it also helps job seekers learn what certifications they need to meet certain qualifications," said GOED Executive Director Michael Brown.

The Nevada Department of Health and Human Services has partnered with Immunize Nevada and will be on hand providing COVID-19 vaccines and boosters, and flu shots. COVID vaccines are now approved for kids as young as 5, and many employers are now requiring vaccination as a condition of employment.

Other community partners providing resources alongside DETR and GOED at JobFest include Workforce Connections, Veteran’s Services, Nevada Partners, Culinary Health Fund, Help of Southern Nevada, Division of Welfare and Supportive Services, Dress for Success, Urban League, Legal Aid of Southern Nevada and more.
