The City of Henderson released a public engagement and outreach summary on redevelopment of the former Fiesta Casino Hotel site, located on Lake Mead Parkway near the I-215 and U.S. Highway 93 intersection. The City received more than 5,600 completed surveys within a 30-day comment period. The top two identified primary uses/themes for the site include tournament sports facility & hospitality and family-oriented entertainment. The top two identified supporting uses/themes for the site include family-fun and arts & culture.

Public funding is involved in this project. In December 2022, the City purchased the demolished Fiesta Henderson site from Station Casinos for $32 million, mostly with redevelopment funds. The 1,400 spot parking garage remains standing on the site.

According to the survey, “Residents would like to support a project with a variety of additional uses such as arts and cultural facilities and event space. The community prioritized incorporating the natural environment within the site design and utilizing climate-appropriate landscaping while also offering a diverse array of gathering spaces. The community expressed a preference for low to medium scale development.”

After the planning process completed, the City will develop a vision document for recruiting a potential future developer for the remainder of the ste and accompanying uses.
