The Henderson Chamber of Commerce (HCC) hosted its 2022 State of the Chamber luncheon on August 26th at M Resort. The event brought the business community together, reflected the accomplishments and challenges of the past year, and addressed the vision and opportunities of the business community moving forward.

The event started with a video of Scott Muelrath, President and CEO of HCC, adopting remote work style within his organization during the pandemic. HCC's Immediate Past Chair Aviva Gordon introduced the new Chair, Craig Kirkland.

Kirkland is the Executive Vice President/Director of Retail Banking at Nevada State Bank. He has more than 27 years of experience in banking, including positions as branch manager, regional manager, and division manager. He is an active participant in a number of local volunteer projects including servicing on the Board for the Las Vegas Rescue Mission as vice president since 2008.

This year, Leadership Henderson receives the highest number of applications in the history of the program. The program is devoted to educating and empowering civic-minded professionals with a goal of building and maintaining a strong network of effective community leaders.

Reopening of the Launchpad

The HCC reopened the Launchpad this year. For more than twenty years, Launchpad (formerly the Henderson Business Resource Center) has been helping micro and start-up businesses establish themselves and grow. It offers short-term, all-inclusive leases in a fully refurbished office environment for micro businesses to develop their entrepreneurial dreams.
