2021 Gaming Revenue Set New Record of $53 Billion, 21% Higher Than 2019’s Previous All-Time High

According to the American Gaming Association latest Commercial Gaming Revenue Tracker, the gaming industry crossed the $50 billion revenue threshold for the first ever last year, generating $53 billion in 2021. This is 21% higher than the previous all-time high of $44 billion in 2019.

According to the American Gaming Association latest Commercial Gaming Revenue Tracker, the gaming industry crossed the $50 billion revenue threshold for the first ever last year, generating $53 billion in 2021. This is 21% higher than the previous all-time high of $44 billion in 2019.

“Our recovery is not complete, as we still await the full return of key sectors like meetings and conventions and business and international travel, but I’ve never been more confident that our collective, unified efforts will get us over the finish line - and sooner rather than later,” said Bill Miller, President and CEO of American Gaming Association.

23 Commercial Gaming States Set New Annual Records

23 of the 34 operational commercial gaming jurisdictions—including four new markets—set records for full year commercial gaming revenue in 2021 (denoted below in bold).

Nevada ranks the #1 state in commercial gaming, generating $13.4 Billion in 2021, 70.6% increases from 2020 and 11.6% increases from 2019. Pennsylvania ranks #2 with $4.8 billion and New Jersey ranks #3 with $4.7 billion in 2021.
