100 Years of Giving: Las Vegas Rotary Club Continues Annual Donations Surpassing $40,000 This Year

The Club’s annual food drive and Santa Clothes initiatives are underway.

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Rotary Club continues its tradition of community giving with nearly $40,000 in charitable donations this year with more planned during the holidays to support local organizations, focusing on children and education.

Its 2023 contributions and initiatives include:

  • Assistance League of Las Vegas  
    • Transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs 
  • Positively Arts   
    • Empowering kids through artistic discovery 
  • Cristo Rey St. Viator  
    • Educating young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose and service 
  • Green Our Planet  
    • Connecting students to nature through school gardens and hydroponics so they will grow up to be STEM leaders and environmental activists 
  • HopeLink of Southern Nevada 
    • To prevent homelessness, preserve families, promote self-sufficiency, and provide hope for all in our community to have a safe place to call home 
  • Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada 
    • Inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy 
  • Nevada School of the Arts 
    • Providing world-class music instruction and life-changing experiences to students of all ages and backgrounds 
  • Public School Sponsorships  
  • UNLV Library Oral History Project  

“Every dollar that supporters and partners of the Las Vegas Rotary Club provide goes directly into our community,” said Toni Kern, president of the Las Vegas Rotary Club. “We believe it is our duty to support organizations that work so hard to serve, and our members are the true heroes giving generously to those in need.”

The Club’s annual food drive and Santa Clothes initiatives are underway. The canned food drive will have matched donations of up to $5,000. Additionally, the Club’s Santa Clothes program where Rotarians and volunteer shoppers shopped with at-risk children in need of clothing and shoes. The initiative is on its 28th year and has helped over 6,500 children throughout Southern Nevada since its inception.
