Last week, Mandalay Bay announced a $100 million remodel of its 2.1 million square feet convention center. The remodel includes significant technology upgrades, digital signage, and a new design complementing Mandalay Bay’s tropical ambiance.

Mandalay Bay recently installed new Cat6A Ethernet, doubling the frequency of data transmission and increases the speed up to 9,400% -- the equivalent of downloading a 4K movie in 30 seconds. It also installed 11 new digital walls measuring up to 24’ x 13’ and an addition of 20 double-sided 55’ mobile flexible display units.

Mandalay Bay Convention Center will remain open and fully operational throughout the remodel, with upgrades executed in phases. The project is expected to be complete by the end of 2024.

The design is done by MGM Resorts International Design Group, in collaboration with Las Vegas-based Dezmotif Studios.

In addition to the convention center, Mandalay Bay will remodel all 424 rooms and suites at the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas next year, add Flanker Kitchen + Sports Bar in summer 2023 and complete the redesign of STRIPSTEAK in early 2023.
