Governor Steve Sisolak Appoints State Infrastructure Bank’s First Executive Director

CARSON CITY, NV – Governor Steve Sisolak appointed the first State Infrastructure Bank Executive Director, Asheesh S. Bhalla. Asheesh S. Bhalla currently serves as the Deputy Attorney General for the State of Nevada and will begin in his role as Executive Director of the Nevada State Infrastructure Bank on September 19, 2022.

“I’m proud to appoint Director Bhalla as our state’s first Infrastructure Bank Director. With the former Deputy at the helm, we’ll be set up for success as we work to invest in critical projects that will help our state flourish,” said Governor Steve Sisolak. “After we made the state’s first-ever investments into the Infrastructure Bank, I’m proud of the work done by the Treasurer’s Office to get the Infrastructure Bank running and ready to make integral investments into affordable housing, education and more.”

Asheesh S. Bhalla is a state prosecutor and former corporate defense attorney and has served as the Deputy Attorney General for the Office of the Nevada Attorney General since December 2016. Bhalla also currently serves as counsel to Nevada state agencies including the Cannabis Compliance Board, State Environmental Commission, Nevada Athletic Commission and the Real Estate Commission.

During Governor Sisolak’s State of the State speech in February, he promised to fund the previously unfunded State Infrastructure Bank and he has since delivered on this promise with an initial $75 million.
